What is this project about? This project aims to offer an anonymous platform for trans people to tell their stories of trying to access healthcare, transition related or not, in Ireland. This applies to the whole island of Ireland. We want to give a voice to the community to share these in a safe and confidential way, to increase awareness of the realities faced by trans people in Ireland. In addition to this, we aim to use this platform as a basis to campaign for comprehensive healthcare, policy, and legislative reform for trans, non binary and intersex people in Ireland. By giving a platform for people to share their stories, we hope this project will generate awareness among the wider public about these issues.

How will my identity be protected?
We know that for the majority of trans people in Ireland, there are numerous risks with sharing your story. Along with the risk of targeted harassment, people who have publicly shared their stories have had their access to healthcare revoked from the National Gender Service. Because of these factors, confidentiality is absolutely key to this process.

After your story is submitted, all contact emails will be permanently deleted, and we will never provide any information to any person outside of the organization.
